How to Uninstall Windows XP

These guides will Show you how to uninstall a  Microsoft Window XP Home or Professional upgrade from your computer.

Uninstall XP from safe mode command prompt - Uninstall XP from MSDOS on FAT32 driver

Uninstall XP from safe mode command prompt

  1. Start your computer to Safe Mode with Command Prompt

  2. Type “cd\” press “Enter”.

  3. Now type cd\windows\system32 , press “Enter”

  4. Type “osuninst.exe”, press ENTER.

  5. Now follow onscreen prompts to uninstall XP

Uninstall XP from MSDOS on FAT32 driver 

  1. Start your computer with a boot disk, and load to command prompt.

  2. Type “C:” press “Enter”.

  3. Now type “cd windows” press “enter”,

  4. then “cd system32” and press “Enter” .

  5. You should now be at C:\windows\system32. If so continue

  6. Type “osuninst.exe”, press ENTER.

  7. Now follow onscreen prompts to uninstall XP

  8.

Uninstall XP from Recovery Console 
  1. Start your computer using your XP CD.

  2. Enter Recovery Console from first menu and login.

  3. Type “cd\” press “Enter”.

  4. Now type cd\windows\system32 , press “Enter”

  5. Type “osuninst.exe”, press ENTER.

  6. Now follow onscreen prompts to uninstall XP

Uninstall XP in Windows 

  1. Start Windows XP normally or start in safe mode (Press F8 key on boot up)

  2. Click “Start”

  3. then open “Control Panel”

  4. now select “Add or Remove Programs”

  5. You should now be in “Change or Remove Programs”.

  6. If so click on “Windows XP Uninstall”,

  7. then “Change/Remove”,

  8. and then click “Uninstall Windows XP”.

  9. Click “Yes” at the next warning screen to start the Windows XP removal process.

  10. Once completed your computer will restart, and boot to the previously-installed operating system
